ARTU / Case study: Pedemontana Lombarda
Cantene is involved in the modeling activities supporting the tunnel ventilation system design for the new Pedemontana Lombarda.
These are a series of one-way road tunnels with longitudinal ventilation, for which Cantene is responsible for reverifying the ventilation system design and preparing risk analyses using ARTU and QRAM for dangerous goods.
ARTU (Analisi di Rischio Tunnel / Tunnel Risk Analysis) is an SW proprietary tool developed by Cantene for risk assessment in tunnels. ARTU combines a probabilistic framework (Monte Carlo method) to evaluate a large number of fire scenarios adopting 1D and smoke propagation models to simulate the evacuation of people. ARTU has undergone a thorough validation process by long-time collaborator Lund University, Sweden.
